Education Ministers, youth activists, policy and business leaders from over 140 countries are this week meeting in France to deliberate on ways to revolutionize education

Transforming Education Pre-Summit in Paris  organized by UNESCO, will consist of country-led national consultations, global thematic action tracks, and public engagements.

The Pre-Summit will dwell on five fundamental areas of transformation with focus on schools, life-long quality learning, teachers, connectivity and financing education.

The Summit which is Coming at a time when education globally is facing extensive challenges, aims to provide “a moment for Transforming Education Pre-Summit, at the top of the world’s agenda,” and to reverse the present slide on SDG 4.

According to the World Bank, 70 percent of 10-year-olds, mainly from the developing countries, are now in learning poverty, described as not able to read and understand a simple story.

“The forced School shut downs during the pandemic and unmatched mitigation actions have aggravated the learning inequality among children,” says the World Bank.

“Underprivileged children are affected the most, compromising their ability to thrive in increasingly competitive labour markets and more complex societies.” stated the world Bank
