Final inter-varsity transfers starts Monday via KUCCPS portal.

University students who were recently placed in different institutions will have an opportunity to change their final inter-varsity transfers beginning Monday.

Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement will open the portal on July 25, for students to commence the final placement.

A statement from the placement agency signed by KUCCPS CEO Mercy Wahome revealed that these changes will be the final inter-varsity transfers.

“The final inter-varsity transfer exercise will end on August, 24. Application guidelines will be published on the application portal before the commencement,” Wahome said.

Wahome clarified that the students should qualify for the courses they wish to pick in various institutions.

“The final inter-varsity transfer application must be endorsed by both receiving and the releasing institutions,” she added.

The applicants will then be able to monitor the transfer process in due time.

“Once approved transfer letters will be posted on the portal for download by the applicants,” she said.

Previously, Education CS George Magoha said 90 per cent of candidates who scored a mean grade of C+ and above were successfully placed.

The students had applied to join universities or Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) colleges and were successfully placed.

“85 per cent of those who applied got into degree programmes while five per cent will take up courses in TVET institutions,” Magoha said.

He further said 144,466 students qualified for various degree programmes.

Another 85.8 per cent of those that were placed in universities, 67,237 are female and 56,726 are male have, the privilege of working on their final inter-varsity transfers.

Other 5,278 candidates who also qualified for degree programmes have been placed in TVET colleges of their choice.

The reports show that more female candidates (68,705) have joined TVETs compared to male candidates (54,000).
