The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has invited applications from qualified Kenyans to the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) for the 2024/2025 academic year.
In an update on November 3, KUCCPS stated that the applications are open for individuals who scored at least grades C, C- and D+ in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE).
The placement service while inviting the applications noted that the slots are additional, having earlier opened applications in July.
Those with a minimum mean grade of C can apply for Diplomas in Clinical and Surgery, Community Health, Community Oral Health, Health Counselling, Health Insurance Management, Health Promotion, Health Records and Information Technology, and Medical Engineering.
KUCCPS Announces KMTC Courses
Other courses available include Diplomas in Medical Laboratory Sciences, Medical Social Work, Medical Engineering, Kenya Registered Nursing (Mental
Health and Psychiatry), Occupational Therapy, Radiography and Imaging, Kenya Registered Nursing, Kenya Registered Community Health Nursing, Public Health, Physiotherapy, Pharmacy, and Orthopedic Technology.
Further, KUCCPS indicated that courses open for application include a Certificate in Orthopedic Trauma Medicine available for students with a minimum mean grade of C-.

C- students can also apply to pursue Certificates in Health Records and Information Technology, Community Health Assistant, Kenya Enrolled Community Health Nursing, Medical Emergency Technician, Medical Engineering, Nutrition and Dietetics, Mortuary Science and Public Health.
On the other hand, D+ students have been invited to apply for a Certificate in Nutrition and Dietetics course offered Chwele, Homa Bay, Kabarnet, Kapenguria, Karen – Nairobi, Kwale, Lodwar, Makueni – Mbuvo Satellite, Molo, Nyandarua, Rera, and Thika campuses.

How to Apply
According to KUCCPS, eligible persons should log into the placement service’s students portal using the link students.kuccps.net or through the KUCCPS website www.kuccps.ac.ke.
Once in, click the Login tab and input your KCSE Index Number, KCSE year and Password in the provided slots. Your password is your Birth Certificate Number or Your KCPE Index Number.
Having logged in, click “KMTC Programs” to view available courses and their minimum requirements. Applicants will only be able to apply for courses where they meet minimum requirements. Download the PDF document containing the details of the available programs for ease of reference.
Once you have decided on your preferred courses, you will be required to enter the Program Codes.
To apply, click the “KMTC Application” tab then “Apply Now” and enter the Program Codes in the provided form.
Proceed to arrange them in your order of priority, from your most preferred course (No. 1) to your least preferred course (No. 4).
On submitting, you will be required to pay Ksh1,500 and the portal will display the payment instructions.
The application deadline is November 10, 2024.
